Amy gets into the spirit of Christmas

Updated: Apr 17, 2023

East Dunbartonshire MP, Amy Callaghan, got into the Christmas spirit by visiting several community groups around the constituency in the lead up to the big day.

Locals at the Fraser Centre in Milngavie opened their arms to the local MP, sharing a Christmas dinner and dancing on 21st December. She also visited residents at the Mavisbank Care Home to share some festive cheer.

Ms Callaghan said it was "so important" that locals had a chance to relax with friends and family after "such a challenging year".

Earlier in December, Ms Callaghan donated a star to the public tree in Bearsden following a two-year campaign by local schoolboys.

Commenting, Amy Callaghan MP said:

"It was great to get out and about around East Dunbartonshire in the run up to Christmas.

"It’s clearly been a tough year for everyone with spiralling energy costs and the cost of living crisis, so I wanted to play my part in these much needed celebrations.

"The Fraser Centre is such a fantastic community hub, and thanks to everyone that made me feel so welcome.

"If anyone has concerns or issues they think I could help with this year, then please get in touch with my office. My door is always open.”
