East Dunbartonshire Hospitality Awards

Massive congratulations to Helmi’s on winning the first ever East Dunbartonshire Hospitality Awards!

I popped over last week to present them with the winner’s trophy. It was a great excuse to enjoy some cakes and coffee!

EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE

HOSPITALITY AWARDS CRITERIA

Purpose

These awards aim to recognise the tremendous service that hospitality businesses across East Dunbartonshire provide to their local community. Amy is keen to shine a light on the best local hospitality businesses following a tough two years for the industry throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Who is eligible?

All restaurants, pubs, cafes, hotels, and takeaways in East Dunbartonshire. The longlist was created after members of the public nominated their favourite local hospitality businesses. Members of the public then scored those businesses over five criteria, with the five businesses receiving the highest scores making up the shortlist.

Judging Criteria

Participants were prompted to judge businesses across five criteria, where participants chose the business they believe performs best across:

  • Customer service

  • Accessibility

  • Quality of product

  • Value for money

  • Overall experience

The five businesses with the highest scores made up the shortlist of five. Members of the public then voted for their favourite business, with Helmi's patisserie in Bearsden being crowned the winner.

Process

  1. Members of the public nominated their favourite businesses. These nominations made up a longlist.

  2. Voting on the longlist opened on 6th July. The five businesses with the highest scores across all criteria became the shortlist on 21st July.

  3. People then voted on the shortlist until 4th August. The winner of East Dunbartonshire Hospitality Awards 2022 was announced a few days later.
